My Rohan dress - Pattern
As you might've noticed I've not been the best at updating this blog since Christmas. In fact, I've not had time to do so much else than eat, sleep, work and study and therefore I've not been able to begin making my Rohan dress either (if you've read my post about my goals for 2014, you know what I'm talking about). However, since things have calmed down a bit I'm determined to begin making that dress. The first thing that I needed to do was deciding what sort of dress I wanted to do. Rohan clothing is inspired by late Viking/early Medieval Age and I chose to do an early Medieval Age-dress. On the pattern I chose it says that it is an 14th century dress, however the dresses barely changed anything from around the 12th century to the 14th century so it'll still be quite accurate for a Rohan-dress. I'm fortunately not alone on this journey but have a woman who can help me if I'm in trouble (I'm not that experienced, especially when it comes to period-accuracy (I usually cheat when it comes to that)). But this time I wanted to do it properly. So the dress that I'll be making is the one to the right (that's the one most Rohan-ish) and I'll also be doing a petticoat.

The pattern can for example be bought from Medeltidsmode.
Anyways, this is just the start of my journey and I think that I'll write a sort of follow-up on every big step I (hopefully) will take. But we'll see. I have learned not to promise too much.
